Lord,
I am a broken mess.
You are holy and worthy of praise.
How are we going to have a relationship?
You love your enemies
and I hurt even the people close to me.
I look for evil,
and evil has no place in your sight.
How are we compatible?
During this season, I want to become more like Jesus.
I recognize this is a journey...
Guide me in repentance, prayer, and fasting.
May I have your strength
to become the person you would have me be,
to, through your grace, shed the old and embrace the new,
to reflect the light of Christ in my life.
As I ask all of these things
please only grant these changes in my life
if I am changed so that I might bring your kingdom on earth.
To you be glory and honor, not me.
I ask all of this in the name of Jesus,
who gave me a real example of how to live.
I pray this in his name,
